Our next Brewer’s Choice release, Scratch #529 Nitro ESB, is a deep dive into our archive of OG styles. “English ales aren’t something we’ve done much of since our move to Hershey,” says brewer Dane Youtz of the inspiration. “We’re going back to Scratch #75 for the yeast and keeping it pretty traditional.” It starts with Maris Otter and a touch of caramel malts, then Northern Brewer and Fuggle hops add balance. We’re excited to dispense this via nitrogen to mimic the style’s known low carbonation and highlight the notes of biscuit, toffee and fruity esters.
