The inspiration for Scratch #425 came from the citrusy and tropical Hothead Kveik yeast strain. On top of a base of pilsner malt, Munich malt, pale malt, Carahell malt, honey malt and oats, we layered in hops to amplify Hothead’s flavors. In the end, the combination of Citra, Sabro, Azacca and El Dorado help deliver notes of juicy pineapple, papaya, tangelo and nectarine.
