Every brew in the Scratch Lab helps us learn, but this IPA carries a little more weight. Scratch #461 is the world-premiere brew with experimental hop HQ2015025-008, all of only 12 pounds that exist on planet Earth! We’ve been working with over 50 other breweries from across the country as part of the Hop Quality Group, evaluating future public hop varieties in development. A portion of the proceeds from this uber-limited release will go towards a Hop Quality Group student scholarship. “We developed a recipe to let the hop shine,” says brewmaster John Trogner. “You’ll get a touch of bitterness and bright hop flavor.” We taste: tropical fruit, lemongrass and a touch of mint.
