For our Black is Beautiful collaboration, we partnered with the Harris Family Brewery, Pennsylvania’s first black-owned brewery, located in Harrisburg. The inspiration for this American brown lager is cornbread, specifically a well-guarded recipe from the family of Harris brewmaster, Shaun Harris. Corn notes come from Pennsylvania blue corn grown at Dancing Stars Farm and malted locally by Deer Creek Malt. Roasty notes – meant to be reminiscent of the brown char near the edge of the skillet – come from chocolate and caramel malts, while Lemondrop hops add a hint of citrusy lemon.
