The Art of Tröegs Contest – Definition and rules

Eligible entrants may get in on the Art of Tröegs Contest by creating an original work of art (painting, photography, illustration, digital design, drawing, mixed media, crafts, sculpture, collage, jewelry, metalwork, carving, mosaic, stained glass, etc.) that is inspired by Tröegs artwork. For digital reference pieces of our beer artwork visit our logo asset library. Contest begins February 14, 2020 and submissions are due by April 26, 2020.

To enter, submit your artwork or a photograph of your piece to the addresses below. All submissions must include your name, address, email and phone number and website url/social media handles if applicable. Please also include a brief explanation of your concept and inspiration for your art. Submissions can be emailed to: info@troegs.com (subject: Art of Tröegs Contest) or sent to:

In-person submissions will be accepted at the brewery General Store during normal business hours.

All submissions are due by April 26, 2020

Selection of winners
A panel of judges will evaluate each entry based on:

  • Creative use of Tröegs artwork – 25%
  • Concept/story – 25%
  • Craftsmanship – 25%

Selection will be made by May 30, 2020 by a panel of judges from Tröegs. In the event of a tie, Tröegs VP of Marketing will make the final selection.

The highest-scoring entrant will be declared the grand prize winner, subject to verification. The next two highest-scoring entrants will be declared runners-up. The winner and runners-up will be notified on our around May 30, 2020. If an email entry is chosen as a winner, Tröegs and the artist will arrange to transport the art to the brewery.

If you were not selected as a winner, you will be notified by Jeff Herb (jherb@troegs.com) and may arrange for pick-up of your art at the brewery. You may also choose to donate your art to the brewery. If pick-up is not arranged by July 15, 2020, your submission will become property of Tröegs Independent Brewing. Tröegs reserves the right to donate unclaimed art to charity.

Grand Prize – One Grand Prize winner will receive $500 and be invited as a special guest to attend the Art of Tröegs gallery opening party in Hershey, PA. The prize includes 2 hotel room accommodations for one night. The Grand Prize artwork will be featured in the Art of Tröegs gallery. The winner will also have a limited-release beer label created in honor of their artwork by Tröegs in-house artists.
First Runner Up – One First Runner Up winner will receive a $300 cash prize, an invitation to attend the Art of Tröegs Gallery opening party and 1 hotel room accommodation. The First Runner Up artwork will be featured in the Art of Tröegs Gallery.
Second Runner Up – One Second Runner Up winner will receive a $150 cash prize, an invitation to attend the Art of Tröegs Gallery opening party and 1 hotel room accommodation. The Second Runner Up artwork will be featured in the Art of Tröegs Gallery.

Prize Restrictions
Winner and Guests must be 21 years of age or older. Accommodations are subject to availability and restrictions. Gallery Opening Party dates are anticipated to be July 23rd, July 30th or August 6th. Date selection will be at Tröegs’ sole choosing. Tröegs will try to accommodate Grand Prize Winner’s schedule, however if Grand Prize Winner is unable to travel during travel dates, as determined by Tröegs, the Grand Prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected in accordance with these Rules. All prize Winners and Guests must sign and return a release of liability/publicity. Winner and/or Guest’s participation in any or all activities involving the Prizes is voluntary.

Prize Claim
The potential Winners of all Prizes are subject to verification, including verification of age. The potential Winners will be contacted via email and will be required to complete, sign, and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release (granting the use of the Winner’s name, city/state, likeness, or video/photography by Tröegs for advertising/publicity purposes, without further compensation) within ten (10) days of attempted email notification or prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Winner. If potential Winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Rules, if prize notification or prize is unclaimed or if prize is rejected, the potential Winner will be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited and will be awarded to an alternate winner.

This contest is intended for legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 21 or older at time of entry. Void where prohibited. No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase does not increase your chances of winning. Employees, immediate family members of employees, previous Art of Tröegs contest winners, licensed retailers and wholesalers and contractors of Tröegs Independent Brewing are not eligible for grand prize though their artwork still may be featured in the gallery.

Usage rights
Each entrant irrevocably grants Tröegs the unconditional and perpetual right to reproduce, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, adapt, exhibit and otherwise use or reuse on an exclusive basis each element of the entrant’s submission and use of the entrant’s name, likeness, photograph and statements regarding his/her participation in this contest in any and all media without limitation, additional compensation or approval.

Limitations of liability and release
No liability or responsibility is assumed by Tröegs resulting from any entrant’s participation in or attempt to participate in the contest or ability or inability to deliver their entry. By accepting a prize, winners agree that Tröegs shall not be liable for any loss or injury resulting from participation in the contest, or the acceptance or use of any prize.

Tröegs reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change the terms, suspend or cancel this contest without notice or compensation to any entrant.
